The Burr & Burton Bulldogs scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Friday. They snuck past Granville with a 66-60 win. Given Burr & Burton's advantage in MaxPreps's basketball rankings in their respective home states (they are ranked 39th in Vermont, while Granville is ranked 425th in New York), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
When it comes to explaining why Granville lost, one person who can't be blamed is Liam Farrell. Despite the final result, he dropped a double-double on 31 points and 11 rebounds. The game was Farrell's seventh in a row with at least ten points. Isiah Guyton was another key contributor, scoring 12 points along with five rebounds.
The win makes it two in a row for Burr & Burton and bumps their season record up to 2-3. As for Granville, their loss dropped their record down to 5-3.
Burr & Burton will be playing in front of their home fans against Hartford at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Granville, they will head out on the road to face off against Fort Ann at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Hopefully Fort Ann focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 37 on Wednesday.
