Meanwhile, Palo Verde faced Faith Lutheran in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Wednesday. The Panthers came up short against the Crusaders, falling 10-3. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest loss the Panthers have suffered since March 18th.

Jace Jefferies made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went 2-for-3 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run.

Bishop Gorman's win bumped their record up to 19-13. As for Palo Verde, their defeat ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 22-9.

Fans could be in store for some top-tier slugging on Thursday. Bishop Gorman hasn't had any problems when it comes to power this season, having averaged 0.4 home runs per game. However, it's not like Palo Verde struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 0.5 home runs. With so much power on both teams, it'll be down to the pitchers to keep the mound locked down.

Bishop Gorman took their victory against Palo Verde when the teams last played back in March by a conclusive 10-2 score. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Gaels since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
