The Colorado Academy Mustangs's game on Tuesday was a tough loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Thursday. They breezed by Berthoud on the road to the tune of 66-38. Winning is a bit easier when you work as a team to rack up eight more assists than your opponent, as Colorado Academy did.
It was another big night for Anna Johnson, who scored 19 points along with 7 steals. That makes it two consecutive games in which she has scored at least 25% of Colorado Academy's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Alex May, who scored 13 points along with 4 steals.
Several Spartans players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Avery Pfohl, who scored 15 points along with 8 rebounds. Pfohl scored a full 39.5% of Berthoud's points, the second time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points. Another player making a difference was Meg Hidalgo, who scored 4 points.
The win got Colorado Academy back to even at 2-2. As for Berthoud, they still haven't won a game yet this season and fell to 0-3.
Colorado Academy will square off against Legend at 8:15 p.m. on Friday. Legend is currently enjoying a perfect season and no doubt want to keep things rolling. Berthoud will be staying on the road on Friday to face off against Eagle Valley at 3:00 p.m. on December 8th.
