Sahuaro waltzed into their match on Thursday with eight straight wins... but they left with nine. They came out on top against the Tucson High Magnet School Badgers by a score of 53-44. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Cougars also won the last time the pair played back in December of 2017.

Carly Coolidge was her usual excellent self, going 5 for 10 on her way to 16 points in addition to seven rebounds and three steals. Another player making a difference was Biale Sika, who went 6 for 13 on her way to 13 points and five rebounds.

Sahuaro is on a roll lately: they've won ten of their last 12 contests, which provided a nice bump to their 14-5 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 27.4 points per game. As for Tucson High Magnet School, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 9-8.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Sahuaro won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Cholla at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. Sahuaro is facing Cholla at the right time seeing as Cholla is stuck on an 11-game losing streak. As for Tucson High Magnet School, they will venture away from home to take on Canyon del Oro at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Tucson High Magnet School will also cruise into their next match with the timing on their side: Canyon del Oro will have lost three straight heading into Tuesday's contest.
