Having just played yesterday, the Cornerstone Academy Cougars will get right back to it and host the Aucilla Christian Warriors at 5:00 p.m. on January 23rd. Cornerstone Academy is out to stop a 11-game streak of losses at home.
Cornerstone Academy suffered their biggest defeat since December 11, 2023 on Monday. They were outmatched by Meadowbrook Academy at home and fell 72-31.
Meanwhile, Aucilla Christian pushed their score all the way to 55 on Friday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They took a 62-55 hit to the loss column at the hands of Echols County.
Aucilla Christian's defeat came about despite a quality game from Ethan Bass, who scored 21 points along with eight rebounds and seven assists. That's the first time this season that Bass pulled down eight or more rebounds. Jacob Flynt was another key contributor, scoring 11 points.
Cornerstone Academy's loss dropped their record down to 1-10. As for Aucilla Christian, they have traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost three of their last four matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 8-7 record this season.
Cornerstone Academy was dealt a bruising 63-26 defeat at the hands of Aucilla Christian in their previous matchup back in January of 2023. The match was all but decided by halftime, at which point Cornerstone Academy was down 39-16.
