The Greenon Knights entered their tilt with the Triad Cardinals with six consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with seven. Greenon took down the Cardinals 66-47 on Tuesday. Given Greenon's advantage in MaxPreps' Ohio basketball rankings (they are ranked 241st, while the Cardinals are ranked 636th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Triad's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Emma Ferguson, who scored 25 points along with five rebounds and three steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Ferguson has scored all season. Ashlyn McCoy was another key contributor, scoring nine points along with seven rebounds.
Greenon has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 12 of their last 13 matches, which provided a nice bump to their 15-6 record this season. As for Triad, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 6-13.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Greenon will take on the Golden Eagles at 7:30 p.m. on Saturday. Madison Plains is coming into the matchup on a four-game losing streak. As for Triad, they won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against the Rams at 6:45 p.m. on January 31st. Greeneview is looking to tack on another W to their three-game streak on the road.
