Basketball Recap: Forsyth Home Educators Takes a Loss

Forsyth Home Educators lost against South Guilford HomeSchool back in December of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Forsyth Home Educators Hawks came up short against the South Guilford HomeSchool Cougars, falling 53-30. While losing is never fun, the Hawks can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 294th, while the Cougars are ranked 44th).

Despite the loss, Forsyth Home Educators still got an impressive performance from Baleigh Johnson, who dropped a double-double on 19 points and 11 rebounds. The dominant performance gave Johnson a new career-high in boards. The team also got some help courtesy of Katie Mullholland, who posted three points and five rebounds.

Even though they lost, Forsyth Home Educators smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 13 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least ten offensive boards in eight consecutive games.

South Guilford HomeSchool was led to victory by Kourtney Bullins and Isa Bosch. Bullins earned 18 points in addition to eight boards and three blocks, while Bosch had 15 points. Kassidy Bullins was another key player, putting up four points along with nine rebounds and four blocks.

Forsyth Home Educators' defeat dropped their record down to 14-10. As for South Guilford HomeSchool, their win was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 25-1.

Forsyth Home Educators has already played their next match (against South Charlotte), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. South Guilford HomeSchool will host Greater Cabarrus S at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. South Guilford HomeSchool is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 56.5 points per game this season.
