Moore Catholic is 0-5 against Fordham Prep since April of 2016 but things could change on Thursday. The Mavericks will welcome the Rams at 11:00 a.m. Moore Catholic will be looking to extend their current four-game winning streak.
Moore Catholic barely beat Xavier the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Mavericks' pitchers stepped up to hand the Knights a 9-0 shutout on Wednesday. The Mavericks might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won four contests by nine runs or more this season.

KENNY VAZQUEZ
KENNY VAZQUEZ tossed a big game, not allowing a single earned run and allowing only one hit while striking out eight over six innings pitched. He also tossed no earned runs, which is notable because Moore Catholic is 4-1 when he allows at most one earned run, but 3-4-1 otherwise.
On the hitting side, TODD VIERRA was excellent, scoring a run while going 1-for-3. He also put up a double, which was his first of the season. Another player making a difference was BRIAN BADALAMENTI, who went 2-for-4 with four RBI.
Meanwhile, Fordham Prep unfortunately witnessed the end of their four-game winning streak on Wednesday. They fell just short of McQuaid Jesuit by a score of 4-3.
Fordham Prep also got a good showing from James Denning, who pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. Denning has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than one hit in three consecutive appearances.
At the plate, Jack McKillop was cooking despite his team's loss, scoring two runs and stealing three bases while getting on base in two of his three plate appearances. He is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as he's now snagged at least one in each of the last four games he's played.
Moore Catholic's victory was their fifth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 7-5-1. Those road wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 0.6 runs on average over those games. As for Fordham Prep, their defeat dropped their record down to 12-6.
The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Thursday as neither team is afraid to steal. Moore Catholic has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 3.2 stolen bases per game. However, it's not like Fordham Prep struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 5 stolen bases. The only question left is which team can snag more.
Moore Catholic couldn't quite finish off Fordham Prep when the teams last played back in May of 2024 and fell 3-1. Will the Mavericks have more luck at home instead of on the road? Check MaxPreps after the action for a full breakdown of the game and more baseball content.
