Zuni fell to Lordsburg 54-0 last week, the largest margin of any game. Hesser Hooee was a bright spot for the Thunderbirds, as he ran for 86 yards in the defeat.
Laguna Acoma made the biggest leap in the national rankings this week, rising to 12,989 from 13,271. They were able to move up in the ranks after a 18-12 victory over the Hawks last week.
Tohatchi's dynamic duo of Justin Smith and Marcus Burbank proved tough for Miyamura to stop, as they were the top passer and receiver in the league this week. Smith threw for 170 yards and 4 touchdowns and Burbank had 75 yards receiving. Myron Long helped Tohatchi's passing attack out by catching 2 balls for 35 yards.
The Cougars' dynamic duo of Smith and Burbank proved to be unstoppable against the Patriots, as they were the top passer and receiver in the league this week.
Hooee was the best running back in 2A District 1 this week. Domenic Mahooty also contributed to the rushing game with 16 yards on the ground.
Burbank was the best wideout in the league this week as Tohatchi beat Miyamura.
He went 13-17 with 1 interceptions.
Smith put up the best numbers in passing as Mark Chandler's team beat WH shark's team.
The Cougars' Smith and Burbank have formed a dream team this season, leading the league in both passing and receiving yards. 5-8 quarterback Smith has thrown for 592 yards this season, while Burbank has 10 catches for 362 yards. Mahooty from Zuni leads the league in rushing with 142 yards.
Tohatchi led 2A District 1 in scoring this week by notching 41 points on the Patriots. Smith ran for 41 yards during the win.
