The Conestoga Cougars stacked a fifth blowout win onto their ever-increasing hoard on Thursday. They really took it to Falls City for the full four quarters, racking up a 62-25 victory at home. The victory was familiar territory for Conestoga who now have four in a row.
Conestoga found their leader in underclassman Owen Trofholz, who scored 19 points along with five rebounds and five steals. Trofholz hasn't dropped below two steals for four straight games. Noah Simones was another key contributor, scoring 11 points along with two steals.
Conestoga pushed their record up to 10-1 with that win, which was their eighth straight at home. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 57.3 points per game. As for Falls City, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-10.
Conestoga will play host again and welcome Syracuse, where tip off is scheduled for 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Falls City will be staying on the road on Saturday to face off against Johnson County Central on January 20th. Johnson County Central presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Falls City in Nebraska (Johnson County Central is ranked 60th, while Falls City is ranked 219th).
