Basketball Recap: LEE's Losing Streak Is a Thing of the Past

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask LEE). They came out on top against the Brandeis Broncos by a score of 67-59 on Saturday. The win was a breath of fresh air for the Volunteers as it put an end to their 16-game losing streak.

When it comes to explaining why Brandeis lost, don't look at Finley Montoya. Despite the final result, he went 8 for 18 en route to 20 points. The game was Montoya's fifth in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Sean Tisdall, who almost dropped a double-double on 13 points and nine boards.

LEE's victory ended a nine-game drought on the road and puts them at 7-20. As for Brandeis, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 17-11.

LEE will square off against SA Roosevelt at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday. LEE is on a four-game streak of home losses, SA Roosevelt a three-game streak of away losses, but someone's luck will change. As for Brandeis, they will take on Churchill at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
