The Ellicott Thunderhawks were the 55-29 winner over the Del Norte Tigers when they last played one another back in December of 2022, but their luck changed this time around. Ellicott had to suffer through a rough 38-8 loss at the hands of Del Norte. Ellicott has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Del Norte to victory, but perhaps none more so than Kayleigh Haynie, who scored 8 points along with 7 rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Emma Parra, who scored 7 points along with 5 rebounds and 3 steals.
Ellicott's loss dropped their record down to 0-2. As for Del Norte, the victory got them back to even at 1-1.
Ellicott is on the road again on Tuesday and play against Salida at 6:00 p.m. on December 5th. Del Norte will have some time to savor their win since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Mancos at 4:00 p.m. on December 16th.
