Football Recap: Back of the Yards College Prep Skates Past Gage Park with Ease

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Back of the Yards College Prep). They breezed past the Gage Park Fighting Owls to the tune of 42-0 on Thursday. The Bobcats have beaten the Fighting Owls the last four times they've met, but they better watch out: this was the closest the Fighting Owls has come to flipping the script.

Marko Franco produced another solid effort rushing for 125 yards and two TDs on only 15 carries. He also put in work on the defensive side of the ball, forcing one fumble and making seven total tackles in addition to snagging an interception.

Franco was just one part of a punishing run game: Back of the Yards College Prep was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 293 rushing yards. That's the most rushing yards they've managed all season.

The victory got Back of the Yards College Prep back to even at 2-2-1. As for Gage Park, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 1-4.

The two teams have allowed few points on average (the Bobcats 12.8, the Trojans 11) so any points scored will be well earned. Meanwhile, Gage Park will take on rival DuSable/Tilden/Air Force Academy at 12:45 p.m. on October 4.
