6A District 4 recap November 19, 2013
Fans got a thrill when PJ Blazejowski and Angel Toyens connected against White. The connection went for 57 yards, the longest such play in 6A District 4 this season.
Bartram Trail moved up to 116 from 148 in the state rankings this week, the biggest jump in the league. The Bears were able to move up by defeating the Commanders 50-20.
Bartram Trail's offense was unstoppable this week, as it produced the league's top passer, rusher and receiver. Blazejowski threw for 295 and 3 touchdowns and Romello Bentley had 117 yards receiving. On the ground Blazejowski contributed 97 yards. Toyens helped Bartram Trail's passing attack out by catching 2 balls for 60 yards.
Blazejowski was the best running back in the league this week. In 15 carries, he ran for 97 yards as Darrell Sutherland's team topped White. David Coleman also contributed to the rushing game with 65 yards on the ground.
Bartram Trail's offense has been unstoppable this season and the Bears feature the season leaders in passing, rushing and receiving yards. Blazejowski has thrown for 1,889 yards and 14 touchdowns this season, while Bentley has 49 catches for 622 yards.
Going into this week's contest against Columbia, the Bears' Blazejowski needs 111 passing yards to surpass 2,000 on the season.
Adding to the longest winning streak in 6A District 4 this week, Bartram Trail beat Paul Pierson's team 50-20. The win marks sixth in a row for the the Bears.
