Basketball Game Preview: Butler Bulldogs vs. Glenn Hills Spartans

Butler has gone 10-0 against Glenn Hills recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Saturday. The Butler Bulldogs will be playing in front of their home fans against the Glenn Hills Spartans at 12:00 p.m. The timing is sure in Butler's favor as the team sits on four straight wins at home while Glenn Hills has been banged up by five consecutive losses on the road dating back to last season.

Butler is headed into the contest after thoroughly thrashing Burke County: they outscored them in every quarter. Given that consistent dominance, it should come as no surprise that Butler blew Burke County out of the water with a 66-36 final score. The Bulldogs have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won seven matchups by 21 points or more this season.

Butler can attribute much of their success to Brayla Harris, who almost dropped a triple-double on 20 points, 13 rebounds, and nine assists, and Paris Floyd, who went 7 for 14 en route to 15 points and seven steals. Floyd has been hot for a while, having posted two or more steals the last 19 times she's played. Another player making a difference was Rania Curry, who posted seven points along with 12 boards and three steals.

Butler smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 12 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least eight offensive boards in four consecutive games.

Glenn Hills played against Burke County and lost via forfeit.

Glenn Hills' loss dropped their record down to 0-7. As for Butler, their victory bumped their record up to 13-2.
