Caylee Barbe was a major factor while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she didn't allow a single earned run while striking out ten over seven innings pitched. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in 19 consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-2 with one home run.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Lourdes Ornelas, who went 2-for-3 with one home run, two runs, and two RBI. That's the most runs she has posted since back in April of 2025. Hailey Wilson was another key player, going 2-for-3 with two RBI, one run, and one double.
Trinity Catholic hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. They are a perfect 5-0 when they post two or more strikeouts.
Meanwhile, The First Academy got the win against Space Coast on Wednesday by a conclusive 15-6. The Royals might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won 11 contests by six runs or more this season.
Emerson Gunkel looked comfortable as she tossed four innings while giving up just one earned run off four hits.
At the plate, The First Academy got a massive performance out of Luna Taboas, who went 2-for-3 with two triples, four RBI, and two runs. Another player making a difference was Elissa Moore, who got on base in four of her five plate appearances with four runs, one stolen base, and one double.

The batters for both teams will have to hit smart on Tuesday as both have some strikeout artists on the roster. Trinity Catholic has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 8.9 strikeouts per game. However, it's not like The First Academy struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 7.4 strikeouts. Considering how easily both teams rack up Ks, the hitters on both teams better bring their A-game into this one.
Trinity Catholic suffered a grim 8-2 defeat to The First Academy when the teams last played back in March. Can the Celtics avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
