Last Tuesday, Ayer Shirley got the win against Gardner by a conclusive 68-48. Given Ayer Shirley's advantage in MaxPreps' Massachusetts basketball rankings (they are ranked 16th, while Gardner is ranked 65th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Meanwhile, Quaboag Regional came up short against Uxbridge on Thursday and fell 49-41. Quaboag Regional has struggled against Uxbridge recently, as their contest on Thursday was their sixth consecutive lost matchup.
Ayer Shirley's win bumped their record up to 3-0. As for Quaboag Regional, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-1.
