Despite the loss, Asheville Christian Academy saw an underclassman step up: Ansley Fuchs scored 20 points. Another player making a difference was Sara Larios, who scored 11 points along with six assists and five steals.
Even though they lost, Asheville Christian Academy were working as a unit and finished the game with 11 assists. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Asheville School (Independent) only racked up 19 assists.
Ryann Hernandez continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines for Asheville School (Independent), scoring 24 points along with five assists and five rebounds. That makes it 12 consecutive games in which Hernandez has scored at least 25% of Asheville School (Independent)'s points. Sarah Cutshaw was another key contributor, scoring 21 points.
Asheville Christian Academy's defeat dropped their record down to 5-10. As for Asheville School (Independent), they are on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last nine games, which provided a nice bump to their 9-3 record this season.
