The Hampton County Hurricanes won the last time they faced the Whale Branch Warriors, and things went their way on Saturday too. Hampton County managed a 50-46 win over Whale Branch. The victory made it back-to-back wins for Hampton County.
Hampton County was led to victory by Kavon Chisolm and Joshua Goodman. Chisolm scored ten points along with nine rebounds, while Goodman scored ten points along with seven rebounds. Chisolm hasn't dropped below eight rebounds for three straight games. Another player making a difference was Darius Brooks, who scored six points.
Several Warriors players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Laron Wright, who scored seven points. The team also got some help courtesy of Bradford Thompson, who scored four points along with 11 rebounds and five steals.
Hampton County has been performing well recently as they've won nine of their last 12 games, which provided a nice bump to their 12-5 record this season. As for Whale Branch, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 7-8.
Hampton County will be playing at home against Woodland at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in South Carolina (Woodland is ranked 48th, while Hampton County is ranked 72nd). As for Whale Branch, they will head out on the road to challenge Branchville at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Hopefully Branchville focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up eight last Friday.
