Hutto had to skate by with only a two-point margin when they last took the field, which might have inspired the 20-point drubbing they dealt Stony Point on Friday. The Hippos were the clear victors by a 49-29 margin over the Tigers. Winning may never get old, but the Hippos sure are getting used to it with their sixth in a row.
Kaden Stefek continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, throwing for 278 yards and five touchdowns while picking up 12.6 yards per attempt. What's more, he racked up 150.6 passer rating, the most he's had since back in August of 2024. Jaiden Fields was in the mix too, providing Hutto with two TDs.
Wins are hard to come by when you can't run the rock, something Hutto proved: they limited Stony Point to a paltry 2.9 yards per carry. The team can thank Jamaree Sorrells for the heroic effort on defense: he. Hutto didn't have any issues in that department, having averaged 7.3.
Hutto's defense didn't let the opposing QB, get away unscathed either: they got into the backfield for three sacks. The team can thank three different players for their defensive prowess: Alaedin Mustafa, Jayden Marin, and Malcolm Wheeler, who each picked up one sack apiece. Hunter Frenette got in on the action too, converting a pick into a touchdown.
When it comes to explaining why Stony Point lost, don't look at Kinnick Kalbus. Despite the final result, he threw for 134 yards and three touchdowns on perfect 11-for-11 passing, and also rushed for 35 yards. Olamide Aroworade was another key player, picking up 66 receiving yards and a pair of scores.
Hutto's record now sits at 6-1. As for Stony Point, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost five of their last six matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 3-5 record this season.
Hutto will host Vandegrift at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Vipers' defense has only allowed 14.4 points per game this season, so the Hippos' offense will have their work cut out for them. As for Stony Point, they are taking a road trip to face off against Round Rock Westwood at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Tigers will be up against the Warriors' rather soft defense (which has allowed 38 points per game), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance.
