The North Hills Christian Eagles's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their third straight loss. They took a 53-42 hit to the loss column at the hands of Covenant Classical. North Hills Christian has struggled against Covenant Classical recently, as their matchup on Friday was their sixth consecutive lost matchup.
North Hills Christian's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Addison Shehan, who scored 18 points. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Shehan has scored all season. Reese Merrell was another key contributor, scoring seven points along with eight rebounds and six assists.
Even though they lost, North Hills Christian were working as a unit and finished the game with 12 assists. That's the most assists they've managed all season.
North Hills Christian's loss dropped their record down to 6-9. As for Covenant Classical, the victory was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 7-2.
North Hills Christian and Lee Christian will face off at 6:00 p.m. on January 25th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. As for Covenant Classical, they will head out on the road to square off against Lee Park Prep at 6:30 p.m. on Monday. Hopefully Lee Park Prep focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up eight last Thursday.
