A Season-Best Effort from Mariyon Sloan Leads Shafter over Kennedy
On Thursday, Shafter got the W thanks in part to Mariyon Sloan playing the best football he has all season. Sloan rushed for 252 yards and five touchdowns while picking up 12.0 yards per carry, good enough to set a new career-high in rushing yards in the process. He was no stranger to the big play, turning on the jets for a run that went for 61 yards.
Kennedy had to have seen this coming; the last time they saw Sloan it was a similar story. Back in October of 2023 (the last time Sloan saw the Thunderbirds), he picked up 119 receiving yards and a touchdown, and also punched in a touchdown on the ground.
