This season hasn't been kind to The Kennedy Cavaliers, who are still winless after their tenth match. They were outmatched by Suitland at home and fell 45-0. While losing is never fun, Kennedy can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Maryland football rankings (they are ranked 219th, while Suitland is ranked 77th).
Suitland's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Dehron Johnson, who rushed for 55 yards and two touchdowns. Another player making a difference was Gregory Deloach, who rushed for 80 yards and a touchdown on only five carries.
Kennedy's defeat was their eighth straight at home (dating back to last season), which dropped their overall record down to 0-10. Admittedly, the team was facing some tough opposition over that stretch, including 9-0 Blake and 7-3 Poolesville (their opponents had an average overall winning percentage of 55.4% over those games). As for Suitland, the win makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 8-2.
Kennedy does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Suitland will look to defend their home field on Saturday against Einstein at 2:00 p.m. Einstein is also coming in off of a big victory, so somebody is in for a big reversal of fortune.
