Cathedral Prep is a perfect 10-0 against Erie since May of 2019 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Wednesday. The Ramblers will square off against the Royals at 4:00 p.m. Cathedral Prep is coming into the matchup hot, having won their last four games.
Cathedral Prep lost a heartbreaker the last time they played St. Francis, but it's fair to say they got their revenge given the result of Tuesday's contest. The Ramblers put the hurt on the Red Raiders with a sharp 8-2 victory on Tuesday. The result was nothing new for the Ramblers, who have now won eight games by six runs or more so far this season.

Derick Friedman was a major factor no matter where he played. He struck out six batters over six innings while giving up just two earned runs off four hits. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in four consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, going 2-for-4 with one home run.
In other pitching news, Frank Thomas looked comfortable as he tossed one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits.
Back at the plate, Davin Friedman was a standout: he got on base in all four of his plate appearances with two runs and one stolen base. He has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last three times he's played. Another player making a difference was AJ Sirianni, who went 1-for-2 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run.
Meanwhile, Erie came up short against General McLane on Monday and fell 5-2. The Royals haven't had much luck with the Lancers recently, as the team has come up short the last three times they've met.
Cameron Barnes was cooking despite his team's loss, going a perfect 3-for-3 with one stolen base, one double, and one RBI. Collin Nuber was another key player, going 2-for-4 with one run and one double.
Cathedral Prep's win was their seventh straight at home, which pushed their record up to 14-5. Those home victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.6 runs over those games. As for Erie, their defeat dropped their record down to 3-12.
Cathedral Prep's speedy runners might be the difference in Wednesday's match. The Ramblers have been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 3.4 stolen bases per game. It's a different story for Erie, though, as they've been averaging only 1.2 stolen bases. Will they be able to secure the bases, or will Cathedral Prep continue to outrun the ball?
Everything went Cathedral Prep's way against Erie when the teams last played back in April, as Cathedral Prep made off with a 12-2 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Ramblers since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
