After six games on the road, Calvary Chapel is heading back home. The Calvary Chapel Grizzlies and the Samueli Academy Firewolves will face off at 6:00 p.m. on January 16th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. Both teams come into the game bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Calvary Chapel posted their closest victory yet this season back in December of 2023. They skirted past Mountain View 43-41.
In what's become a running theme this season, Samueli Academy gave their fans yet another huge victory on Friday. They breezed by Vista Meridian on the road to the tune of 59-13. The win was familiar territory for Samueli Academy who now have three in a row.
Samueli Academy's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Morgan Ordaz, who scored 13 points along with seven rebounds and two steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Haset Seyoum, who dropped a double-double on 12 points and 11 rebounds.
Calvary Chapel's win bumped their record up to 6-12. As for Samueli Academy, they are on a roll lately: they've won nine of their last 12 matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 12-7 record this season.
Everything came up roses for Calvary Chapel against Samueli Academy in their previous matchup back in January of 2022 as the team secured a 66-30 victory. Does Calvary Chapel have another victory up their sleeve, or will Samueli Academy turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
