On Tuesday, Hardaway was able to grind out a solid win over Russell County, taking the game 61-51.
Hardaway had a senior duo take command as Lamell Mims scored 20 points along with three steals and Mekhi Benton scored 16 points along with six assists and three steals. Another player making a difference was Antonio Dortch, who scored 11 points along with two steals.
Meanwhile, Cairo scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Saturday. They slipped by Spencer 78-77. The win made it back-to-back wins for Cairo.
Cairo's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Keshen Spence, who scored 31 points along with six rebounds and five assists. That makes it three consecutive games in which Spence has scored at least a third of Cairo's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Jykortnee Brown, who scored 18 points along with eight rebounds and six assists.
Hardaway's win bumped their record up to 12-8. As for Cairo, they pushed their record up to 11-8 with that victory, which was their eighth straight at home.
