The Pawhuska Huskies were the 47-30 winner over the Pawnee Black Bears when they last played one another back in February of 2023, but their luck changed this time around. 2024 welcomed Pawhuska with a 60-40 loss courtesy of Pawnee on Saturday.
Despite the loss, Pawhuska still got an impressive performance from Maggie Green, who scored 13 points. Another player making a difference was Tori Tanner, who scored six points.
Pawhuska's loss dropped their record down to 6-3. As for Pawnee, their win was their fourth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 7-3.
Pawhuska will take on Hominy at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Oklahoma (Hominy is ranked 144th, while Pawhuska is ranked 150th). Pawnee and Morrison will face off at 6:30 p.m. on January 9th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday.
