After flying high against the Bellflower Buccaneers on Monday, the Mayfair Monsoons came back down to earth. Mayfair took a 75-71 hit to the loss column at the hands of Chaminade. Despite running the score up even higher than they did on Monday (66), Mayfair still had to take the loss.
Leading Chaminade to victory were Bryce Goldman and Jonas Thurman. Goldman scored 27 points along with six rebounds, while Thurman went 7 for 15 from beyond the arc en route to 36 points and 2 assists. The contest was Goldman's 13th in a row with at least ten points.
Mayfair's loss dropped their record down to 6-5. As for Chaminade, their victory was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 11-2.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Mayfair will challenge Beckman at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Chaminade won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against Valley Christian at 7:00 p.m. on December 15th. Valley Christian will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps California Rankings (they are ranked 309th, while Chaminade is ranked 58th).
