Softball Recap: Winona Snaps Three-Game Streak of Losses at Home

For some reason, the away team has come away with the win the last five times Winona and Red Wing have met, but the home crowd finally got their W on Tuesday. The Winhawks never let the Wingers get on the board and left with a 7-0 win. Considering the Winhawks have won four contests by more than six runs this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.

Winona's victory ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 7-4. As for Red Wing, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 4-7 record this season.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Winona will take on Stewartville at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday. As for Red Wing, they will look to defend their home field on Thursday against Albert Lea at 4:00 p.m.
