Linden is 1-6 against Hartland since May of 2021 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Wednesday. Linden will face off against Hartland at 4:00 p.m. Linden is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 8.2 runs per game this season.
Linden came out on top against Brighton on Tuesday thanks in part to the team's impressive seven-run seventh inning. The Eagles blew past the Bulldogs 11-1. Considering the Eagles have won 22 games by more than five runs this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.
Tessa Zilisch (2027) made a splash no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, pitching three innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. Zilisch (2027) was also big at the plate, going 1-for-3 with one stolen base and one run.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Morgan Piotrovsky (2025), who went 3-for-5 with three runs, two doubles, and one stolen base. That's the most runs she has posted over her last 13 matches. Miranda Richardson (2026) was another key player, going a perfect 1-for-1 with two RBI, one run, and one double.
Linden kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 12 hits. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Brighton only managed three hits.
Meanwhile, while it was Hartland who put the first runs on the board on Tuesday, it was Clio who put up more. The Eagles took a 6-3 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Mustangs.
Skylar Spisz made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 2-for-4 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI. Lucy Nelson also deserves some recognition as she got her first hit of the season.
Linden is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four contests. That somehow still isn't as good as their 30-6 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.8 runs on average over those games. As for Hartland, their loss ended a four-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 13-9-1.
Wednesday's game will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Linden hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .352. However, it's not like Hartland struggles in that department as they've averaged .328. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Linden suffered a grim 17-11 defeat to Hartland when the teams last played back in April of 2024. Can Linden avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
