New Buffalo is 9-0 against Covert since December of 2017, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Friday. The New Buffalo Bison will be playing in front of their home fans against the Covert Bulldogs at 7:30 p.m. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, the two teams will really light up the scoreboard.
Last Wednesday, even if it wasn't a dominant performance, New Buffalo beat Countryside Academy 55-49. The victory was just what New Buffalo needed coming off of a 67-45 loss in their prior matchup.
New Buffalo got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Lucas Forker out in front who scored 16 points along with seven rebounds. Elliott Bourne was another key contributor, scoring 14 points along with five rebounds and four steals.
Meanwhile, Covert's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their fourth straight loss. They ended up on the wrong side of a rough 87-67 walloping at the hands of Eau Claire.
New Buffalo's win ended a seven-game drought at home and bumped them up to 5-7. As for Covert, their loss dropped their record down to 2-5.
New Buffalo barely slipped by Covert when the teams last played on January 6th, winning 1-0. Will New Buffalo repeat their success, or does Covert have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
