Baseball Recap: Cisco Has No Trouble Against Abilene Christian

Cisco barely beat Abilene Christian the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Cisco Loboes put the hurt on the Abilene Christian Panthers with a sharp 12-2 victory on Saturday. The Loboes haven't had any issues with the Panthers recently, as the game was their third consecutive win against them.

Carson Cochran made a splash while hitting and pitching. He didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only a hit while striking out eight over 4.1 innings pitched. Cochran was also solid in the batter's box, scoring a run while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances.

In other batting news, Case Williams was a standout: he scored three runs while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances. Another player making a difference was Colby McIlroy, who scored two runs and stole a base while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances.

Cisco always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .571. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

The victory got Cisco back to even at 2-2. As for Abilene Christian, they are on a four-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-3.

Coming up, Cisco will challenge Anson at 7:00 p.m. on Saturday. Abilene Christian will have a little extra prep time after the defeat as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Christian Life Preparatory at 6:00 p.m. on March 18th.
