After a string of three wins, The Woodlands Christian Academy Warriors's good fortune finally ran out on Tuesday. They received a tough blow as they fell 74-58 to Second Baptist. Having run the score up that high, both teams might be doing some extra defensive drills very soon.
Second Baptist's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Christian Haskett, who dropped a double-double on 19 points and 11 rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Dyllan Thompson, who scored 18 points along with nine rebounds.
The Woodlands Christian Academy's loss dropped their record down to 19-6. As for Second Baptist, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 11 of their last 12 games, which provided a nice bump to their 20-7 record this season.
The Woodlands Christian Academy will be playing in front of their home fans against St. John XXIII at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. St. John XXIII will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Texas Rankings (they are ranked 1068th, while The Woodlands Christian Academy is ranked 89th). As for Second Baptist, they will head out on the road to challenge Lutheran South Academy at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Lutheran South Academy is strutting with some offensive muscle, as they've averaged 60.5 points per game.
