Awaken Christian won the last time they faced Lake Mead Christian Academy and things went their way on Tuesday too. The Lions blew past the Eagles 16-5. The Lions might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won eight games by six runs or more this season.

Margaux Burney made a big impact while hitting and pitching. She didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits while striking out 12 over five innings pitched. Those 12 strikeouts gave her a new career-high. She was also solid in the batter's box, scoring two runs and stealing a base while getting on base in two of her four plate appearances.

In other batting news, Awaken Christian got a massive performance out of Kaylee Rasmussen, who scored three runs and stole two bases while getting on base in three of her four plate appearances. Rasmussen has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last four times she's played. Ellie Newton was another key player, scoring three runs and stealing three bases while getting on base in three of her four plate appearances.

Awaken Christian always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .611. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Lake Mead Christian Academy only posted an OBP of .444.

Awaken Christian pushed their record up to 8-2 with the victory, which was their fourth straight at home. Those home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 17.3 runs over those games. As for Lake Mead Christian Academy, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-2.
