The Mitchell Mustangs have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won six contests by 24 points or more this season. They took their contest on the road on Tuesday with ease, bagging a 60-16 victory over Hudson. The contest was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 38-8.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Mitchell to victory, but perhaps none more so than Kaylana Little, who scored 13 points along with six steals. Another player making a difference was Priya Jacob, who scored 16 points along with nine rebounds.
When it comes to explaining why Hudson lost, one person who can't be blamed is Cloie Hagin. Despite the final result, she scored eight points along with eight rebounds and three blocks. Those three blocks set a new season-high mark for her.
Perhaps unsurprisingly given the score, Hudson struggled to work together and finished the game with only two assists. They were crushed by their opponents in that department as Mitchell racked up 13 assists.
Mitchell's victory bumped their record up to 7-3. As for Hudson, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 3-6.
Coincidentally, the two teams will both be playing Weeki Wachee the next time they take the court. Hudson will host Weeki Wachee at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday, while Mitchell will host them at 7:30 p.m. on January 4, 2024.
