The Belleview Christian Bruins entered their tilt with the Lone Star Longhorns with six consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with seven. Belleview Christian breezed by the Longhorns at home to the tune of 77-35 on Friday. Belleview Christian has made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won seven matchups by 30 points or more this season.
It was another big night for Brandon Ewing, who scored 25 points along with eight assists and five steals. Ewing is crushing the steal category: he's posted at least two every time he's taken the court this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Jagga Sandhu, who scored 16 points along with six assists and five steals.
Anderson Weathers and Grant Kuntz certainly did their best on Friday to avoid the loss. Weathers almost dropped a double-double on 14 points and nine rebounds, while Kuntz scored four points along with eight steals and five rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Weathers has scored all season.
Belleview Christian's victory was their 18th straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 13-1. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 73.6 points per game. As for Lone Star, they are on a six-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-10.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Belleview Christian will take on the Bison at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. Flatirons Academy is strutting with some offensive muscle, as they've averaged 65.4 points per game this season. Lone Star will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on the Bulldogs at 7:30 p.m. on February 6th.
