The Olympus Titans's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Tuesday after their third straight loss. Their tough 57-35 loss to Cottonwood might stick with them for a while. Olympus was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Cottonwood apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in February of 2021.
Olympus' loss came despite strong showings from Joss Baker and Keily Trabanino. Baker scored 11 points along with 7 rebounds, while Trabanino scored 7 points along with 3 steals. Baker scored a full 31.4% of Olympus' points, the fifth time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Cottonwood to victory, but perhaps none more so than Carley Caton, who scored 16 points along with 6 rebounds. The contest was Caton's fourth in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Avea van der Beek, who scored 18 points along with 9 rebounds.
Olympus now has a losing record at 2-3. As for Cottonwood, they now have a winning record of 3-2.
Olympus will be playing at home against Mountain Crest at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Utah (Mountain Crest is ranked 95th, while Olympus is ranked 70th). As for Cottonwood, they will head out on the road to face off against Mountain Ridge at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
