After losing to the Cactus Shadows Falcons the last time they met, the Higley Knights decided to demonstrate that turnabout is fair play. Higley narrowly escaped with a victory as the squad sidled past Cactus Shadows 48-46.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Higley to victory, but perhaps none more so than Donovan Dabney, who dropped a double-double on 19 points and ten rebounds. The game was Dabney's sixth in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Gavin Dabney, who scored 15 points along with five rebounds.
Higley has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five matches, which provided a massive bump to their 8-6 record this season. As for Cactus Shadows, their defeat ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 8-4.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Higley won't have much time to rest: their next match is against Notre Dame Prep at 7:00 p.m. on January 4th. Notre Dame Prep has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 511 points over their last seven games. As for Cactus Shadows, they will be playing at home against Fairfax at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Hopefully Fairfax focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 18 back in December of 2023.
