The Legacy Lightning's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Tuesday after their fifth straight loss. They took a 52-40 hit to the loss column at the hands of Monarch. Legacy has struggled against Monarch recently, as their contest on Tuesday was their sixth consecutive lost matchup.
Despite the loss, Legacy still got an impressive performance from Olivia Mortensen, who dropped a double-double on 17 points and ten rebounds. That was a full 42.5% of Legacy's points, marking the eighth time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points. Another player making a difference was Meghan Allshouse, who scored 14 points along with six rebounds.
Monarch found their leader in underclassman Sienna Williams, who dropped a double-double on 19 points and 12 rebounds. That makes it three consecutive games in which Williams has scored at least a third of Monarch's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Savannah Weiss, who scored 17 points along with two steals.
Legacy bumped their record down to 1-7 with that loss, which was their fifth straight at home. As for Monarch, their win bumped their record up to 3-6.
Legacy will head out on the road to square off against Loveland at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. Loveland is strutting with some offensive muscle, as they've averaged 50.3 points per game. As for Monarch, they will be playing at home against Poudre at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. Poudre will be looking to extend their current three-game winning streak.
