Despite a phenomenal run in the regular season, the Montesano Bulldogs couldn't carry that success into this playoff game. They fell 28-21 to Freeman on Friday. Montesano's loss signaled the end of their ten-game winning streak.
Luke Whitaker was his usual excellent self, throwing for 148 yards and two touchdowns, while also catching a touchdown. Sage Gilbert was another key contributor, picking up 42 receiving yards and a touchdown.
Montesano's loss dropped their record down to 10-1. As for Freeman, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven contests, which provided a nice bump to their 8-3 record this season.
Montesano does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Freeman will face off against Lakeside at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. One thing working in Lakeside's favor is that they have now posted big point totals in their last six matches.
