The Durham Trojans will venture away from home to challenge the Wheatland Pirates at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. Both teams are coming into the match red-hot, with Durham sitting on eight straight wins and Wheatland on 12.
On Friday, Durham got the win against Pierce by a conclusive 11-2. Considering the Trojans have won 11 contests by more than five runs this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.

Annalee Horn and Sadie Sjolund made a big impact no matter where they played. On the mound, Horn tossed three innings while giving up just one earned run off two hits. Meanwhile, Sjolund struck out seven batters over four innings while giving up just one earned run off two hits. Horn has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up more than two walks in 14 consecutive appearances. At the plate, Horn went a perfect 4-for-4 with two RBI and one run, while Sjolund went 4-for-5 with three runs, one stolen base, and one double. That's the most runs Sjolund has posted since back in March.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Trinity Kolu, who earned three runs and two stolen bases.
Durham kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least nine hits in four consecutive games.
Meanwhile, Wheatland made easy work of Bear River on Thursday and carried off a 20-7 victory. The result was nothing new for the Pirates, who have now won 14 matchups by six runs or more so far this season.
Like Durham, Wheatland also got a great game from a two-way player: Chasidy Sills. She struck out eight batters over seven innings while giving up just one earned (and six unearned) runs off ten hits. Sills was also big at the plate, going 3-for-6 with four RBI and two doubles.
In other batting news, Tatum Sousa was a standout: she went 4-for-6 with two stolen bases, three runs, and two RBI. Ella Woolery was another key player, going 2-for-5 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs.
Wheatland pushed their record up to 16-4 with the win, which was their seventh straight on the road. Those road victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.1 runs on average over those games. As for Durham, their record is now 15-5-1.
Monday's contest will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Durham hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .315. However, it's not like Wheatland struggles in that department as they've averaged .434. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
