Basketball Game Preview: Columbia Academy Bulldogs vs. Battle Ground Academy Wildcats

The Columbia Academy Bulldogs will face off against the Battle Ground Academy Wildcats at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Columbia Academy is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 54.4 points per game this season.

Columbia Academy took a loss when they played away from home on Tuesday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Thursday. They enjoyed a cozy 47-28 win over Fairview. Given the Bulldogs' advantage in MaxPreps' Tennessee basketball rankings (they are ranked 148th, while the Yellowjackets are ranked 351st), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Cooper Estep and Jeremy Jackson were among the main playmakers for Columbia Academy as the former posted 13 points and eight rebounds and the latter dropped a double-double on 12 points and 12 boards. The dominant performance also gave Estep a new career-high in steals (two). Myers Malone was another key player, putting up 11 points and five rebounds.

Meanwhile, it was a proper cat-fight when Battle Ground Academy faced off against University School of Nashville on Thursday. Battle Ground Academy was the clear victor by a 76-56 margin over University School of Nashville. The Wildcats have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won nine games by 20 points or more this season.

Columbia Academy is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five contests, which provided a nice bump to their 6-8 record this season. As for Battle Ground Academy, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 11-8.
