Tyler Wagner spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered a run (which was unearned) on three hits and racked up 18 Ks. Those 18 strikeouts gave him a new career-high.
At the plate, the team relied heavily on Micah Enriquez, who scored two runs and stole Three bases. while going 1-for-3. Weston Nutter also deserves some recognition as he got his first hit of the season.
Meanwhile, Union Academy was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their fourth straight loss dating back to last season. They came up short against Grace Academy, falling 18-7.
Union Academy saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Brett Moore, who scored a run while going 1-for-2. Another was Christian Pawl, who scored two runs while going 1-for-2.
NorthPoint Christian Academy's victory was their 11th straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 3-2. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.5 runs on average over those games. As for Union Academy, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-3.
