Lumberton is 8-2 against Hoke County since March of 2019 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Wednesday. The Pirates will venture away from home to challenge the Bucks at 6:00 p.m. Lumberton is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 8.5 runs per game this season.
Lumberton barely beat Jack Britt the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Pirates blew past the Buccaneers 12-4 on Tuesday. The Pirates haven't had any issues with the Buccaneers recently, as the game was their ninth consecutive win against them.

Norah Johnson made a big impact no matter where she played. She didn't allow a single earned run while striking out eight over seven innings pitched. Those eight strikeouts gave her a new career-high. She was also big at the plate, scoring a run while going 1-for-3.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Jaelyn Hammond, who went 2-for-4 with two stolen bases, three runs, and three RBI. Another player making a difference was Kinsley Martin, who got on base in three of her four plate appearances with one triple and one run.
Meanwhile, Hoke County beat Lee County 8-3 on Tuesday.
Niya Jones spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned (and two unearned) runs on seven hits and racked up nine Ks. She has been consistent for a while: she hasn't given up more than two walks in 13 consecutive appearances.
At the plate, Chica Amador was excellent, scoring three runs and stealing a base while going 1-for-3.
Hoke County's record is now 11-4. As for Lumberton, they now have a winning record of 8-7.
The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Wednesday as neither team is afraid to steal. Lumberton has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 2.7 stolen bases per game. However, it's not like Hoke County struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 3.9 stolen bases. The only question left is which team can snag more.
Lumberton took their victory against Hoke County in their previous matchup back in March of 2023 by a conclusive 10-1 score. Will the Pirates repeat their success, or do the Bucks have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
