The North Miami Warriors lost against the Caston Comets back in December of 2023, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. North Miami fell 55-46 to Caston. While losing is never fun, North Miami can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Indiana basketball rankings (they are ranked 219th, while Caston is ranked 75th).
Despite the loss, North Miami still got an impressive performance from Kaiden Hanley, who scored 28 points along with seven rebounds and five steals. Hanley continues to roll, besting her previous point total in each of the last four games she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Laney Musall, who scored 12 points.
Caston got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Isabel Scales out in front who scored 15 points along with nine rebounds and three steals. Scales hasn't dropped below two steals for eight straight games. Another player making a difference was Addison Zimpleman, who dropped a double-double on 14 points and ten rebounds.
North Miami's defeat dropped their record down to 8-10. As for Caston, their win bumped their record up to 18-1.
North Miami will head out on the road to challenge Wabash at 7:45 p.m. on Saturday. Wabash is coming into the match on a three-game losing streak. As for Caston, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Carroll at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
