The Hickory Christian Academy Knights will head out on the road to  face off against  the Carolina Day Wildcats at 4:30  p.m.  on Friday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
 Hickory Christian Academy took a loss when they played away from home  on Saturday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed  on Tuesday. Everything went their way against Asheville School (Independent) as Hickory Christian Academy made off with  a  9-1 victory.
  Will Friar made a splash no matter where he played. On the mound, he  tossed two innings while giving up   no  earned run off   one  hit. Friar was also big at the plate,  scoring a  run and  stealing a base while going 2-for-4.
 Friar wasn't  the only one making solid contact as  five players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was  Caleb Friar, who  scored two  runs while going 2-for-3.
 Meanwhile, Carolina Day entered their tilt with Oakbrook Prep with three consecutive wins  but they'll enter their next game with four. They were the clear victor by  an  11-1 margin over the Knights on Wednesday.
  Lily Everette looked comfortable as he  didn't allow a single  earned run and  only two  hits over four innings pitched.
 At the plate, Carolina Day let  Devrey Hernandez and  Martiste Mills loose on the outfield. Hernandez  scored two  runs and  stole a base while going 3-for-4, while  Mills  scored three  runs and  stole three bases while going 2-for-3. Another player making a difference was  Sterling Haynes, who  scored a  run while going 1-for-4.
 Hickory Christian Academy pushed their record up to 9-1 with that  win, which was their eighth straight  at home dating back to last season. As for Carolina Day, their record is now 12-8.
 The batters for both teams will have to hit smart  on Friday as both have some strikeout artists on the roster. Hickory Christian Academy has been retiring batters left and right this season,  having  averaged 8.7  strikeouts per game.
