Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Westlake). Everything went their way against the Skyridge Falcons on Tuesday as they made off with a 25-17 win. The pitching woes were uncharacteristic for the Thunder, who until this game were averaging four runs allowed.
Madison Buckley was a standout: she fired off two home runs, four runs, and four RBI while going 4-for-5. That's the most RBI she has posted since back in May of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Audrey Sherman, who went 4-for-5 with one home run, three runs, and four RBI.
They weren't the only ones working in the home run department: Westlake lost a few balls and finished the game with eight home runs. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their home run total in three consecutive contests.
Westlake is on a roll lately: they've won nine of their last 11 matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 14-4 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.6 runs over those games. As for Skyridge, their defeat dropped their record down to 8-11.
