DeSoto extended the longest winning streak in 5A Region I District 7 this week by beating Duncanville, 55-29. The victory was the eighth in a row for the team.
Mansfield Timberview fell to Cedar Hill 44-6 last week, the largest margin of any game.
Midlothian's offense was tough to stop this week, as it produced the league's top passer, rusher and receiver. Zach Humphreys threw for 113 and 2 touchdowns and Brendon Cornell had 94 yards receiving. On the ground Victor Williams contributed 179 yards. Williams helped Midlothian's passing attack out by catching 2 balls for 19 yards.

Jeremiah Drake was a passing and rushing force as the Panthers fell to DeSoto. He completed 14 passes for 163 yards and 1 touchdown and also ran for 21 yards. Drake's favorite target this week was Le'Arius Allen, who caught 5 passes for 44 yards.
Duncanville's Drake and Devante Smith have formed a dream team this season, leading the league in both passing and receiving yards. 5-10 quarterback Drake has thrown for 1,922 yards this season, while Smith has 54 catches for 636 yards. Williams from Midlothian leads the league in rushing with 1,048 yards.
Entering into this week's contest against the Warriors, Drake is short just 78 passing yards to break 2,000 on the season.
A big matchup in the league this week will be when Mansfield takes on the Longhorns. As it stands, the Tigers are in fourth, while Cedar Hill is in third.
Lee Wiginton's team made the biggest jump in the national rankings this week, rising to 792 from 1,019. The advance stemmed from a 28-21 victory over South Grand Prairie last week.
