Harding County has enjoyed the comforts of home their last two games, but now they'll head out on the road. They will square off against the Hettinger/Scranton Black Devils at 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Harding County will be strutting in after a win while Hettinger/Scranton will be coming in after a loss.
Even though Harding County has not done well against Timber Lake recently (they were 2-7 in their previous nine matchups), they didn't let the past get in their way on Thursday. Harding County took their match at home with ease, bagging a 55-10 win over Timber Lake. Fans of Harding County have seen this all before: every one of the games they've played this season ended as a blowout.
Claire Verhulst was the offensive standout of the matchup as she scored ten points along with nine steals. The matchup was her third in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Bailey Verhulst, who scored eight points along with six rebounds and five steals.
Meanwhile, Hettinger/Scranton ended up a good deal behind Lemmon on Tuesday and lost 52-33.
Harding County pushed their record up to 3-0 with that victory, which was their fifth straight at home dating back to last season. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 60.2 points per game. As for Hettinger/Scranton, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-2.
Harding County and Hettinger/Scranton were neck-and-neck when the teams last played back in December of 2022, but Harding County came up empty-handed after a 47-46 defeat. Can Harding County avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
