The Furr Brahmans managed to keep up with the Washington Eagles until halftime on Wednesday, but things quickly went downhill from there. Furr was the victim of a tough 80-56 loss at the hands of the Eagles. While losing is never fun, Furr can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 408th, while the Eagles are ranked 50th).
It was another big night for Chris Mcdermott, who dropped a double-double on 26 points and 25 rebounds for Washington. Mcdermott is crushing the rebound category: he's posted at least eight every time he's taken the court this season. Another player making a difference was Odis Carter, who scored 18 points along with five steals.
Furr dropped their record down to 13-8 with that defeat, which was their third straight at home. As for Washington, the victory was the sixth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 20-4.
Furr will head out on the road to take on the Colts at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. Worthing has now lost seven straight, and the team is hunting for their first win since December 8. As for Washington, they will look to defend their home court on Friday against the Knights at 6:00 p.m. Mickey Leland College Preparatory Academy for Young Men is coming into the game hot, having won their last six games.
